The West Coast Cuban Orchestra Presents Viva Latin America!

Cuban pianist Pablo Cardenas and his project The West Coast Cuban Ensemble are presenting a journey through the Latin American musical legacy at Victoria Event Centre, with music from Astor Piazolla (Argentina), Chabuca Granda (Peru), Violeta Parra (Chile), Antonio Antonio Carlos (Brazil), Simon Dias (Venezuela) and more. Latin American music is considered by many the resource of some of the most beautiful melodies ever created, the cultural richness of this continent is endless, with thousands of years of history in some areas of Central and South America. This music is also very spiritual and romantic, full of passion and energy.

Pablo Cardenas Presents “Viva Latin America”

Celebrate the end of the year at “Viva Latin America!”, an event created to keep alive the musical legacy of these beautiful countries. Pablo Cardenas and his special guests will be interpreting music from the best Latin American composers like Astor Piazolla, Egberto Gismonti, Jobim, Violeta Parra and diffferent styles like tangos, Joropos, Bossa Novas, Boleros, Guayno, Mapale, Cumbia, Salsa, and more. This is a night to enjoy the fusion of this music with Latin Jazz, as well as the most energetic rhythms if you also feel like dancing. Line Up, Laura Deviato, Rafael Duvergel vocals, Leon Torres, Olimpo Ortega, Hector Ramos percussion, Rob Johnson bass, Pablo Cardenas piano and guests.

Pablo Cardenas Presents “Club Havana” (End of Year Special Edition)

Join us for the end of the year celebration with “Club Havana”, an event created with the purpose of showing you the music roots of Cuba.

Music from the farm, the cities, the solares, typical Cuban parties, and popular dances, will all be found at this show. This is an event to listen, watch and dance if you wish to, as it is designed to give you all of those choices combined while making you feel as if you were in Cuba. This is a special occasion that will include some Afro-Cuban music along with all the Cuban music genres like Son, Danzon, Chacha, Bolero, Mambo, Rumba, Salsa, Sucu Sucu, Changui, Pilón, Mozanbique, and more.

Pablo Cardenas and The West Coast Cuban Orchestra will be performing some of the best hits from popular Cuban music history, and the Cuban dancer and instructor Isabel Arias will show you some Cuban dance steps before the show.

Latin Funk & Soul Party w. The West Coast Cuban Orchestra

 

Latin Explosion is back October 11th for a night where Latin/Cuban music will be blended with some of the best Funk, Soul, R & B music of all times all performed by The West Coast Cuban Orchestra, music by Bill Withers, Michael Jackson, Steve Wonder, Amy Winehouse, and more. The spectacular Cuban dancer Yensey Watson will be leading the Salsa class.

Pablo Cardenas and The West Coast afrocubans will be playing a tribute to Buena Vista Social Club on April 21st at Hermann’s Jazz Club, on Victoria , BC. On the line up will be an all stars selection of musicians from Cuba that include Hector Ramos on the congas, Leon Torres on Timbales, Peter Dowse on bass, Rafael Duvergel on vocals, and Pablo Cardenas on piano and musical direction. Pablo Cardenas will be playing the best of Duke Ellington, Hermann’s Jazz Club, January 26th. On the line up Peter Dowse bass, Kelby MacNayr drums, special guest, Noedy Hechavarria on tenor sax.
